United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: RESCUE READY

Rescue Ready is an initiative that aims at equipping young individuals and communities with basic life saving skills through comorehensive first aid training. it addresses the Sustainable Developmental Goals 3,4 and 11. Rescue Ready managed to host 1 seminar at Harare Institute of Technology which comprised of theory and hands-on practical skills on basic first aid (fainting, wound dressing, bandaging and more) and basic home based care.

About the Millennium Fellow

Rumbidzai Nayeema Dewere is a final year Student Diagnostic Radiographer from Harare, Zimbabwe, currently studying at the Harare Institute of Technology. She is passionate about health advocacy, emergency preparedness, community engagement. She is a 2024 Study of the US Institutes Alumni. She is the founder and executive director of Rescue Ready, an initiative aimed at equipping young individuals with basic life saving skills through comprehensive first aid training, soon to be a PVO. She has organised various emergency preparedness campaigns, first aid training workshops, and community projects, and aspires to continue contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
