United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Implementing Climate Change Adaptation Strategies

Implementing Climate Change Adaptation Strategies.
This project aims to develop and implement effective climate change adaptation strategies in the Chatikobo rural area, focusing on enhancing resilience among local communities and schools. Given the increasing impacts of climate change such as droughts and floods in Zimbabwe, it is crucial to equip vulnerable populations with the knowledge and tools needed to adapt to changing environmental conditions. This project will target SDG 1(No poverty) and SDG 13 (climate action). This project targets Chatikobo area in Masvingo, which has been heavily impacted by climate change.

About the Millennium Fellow

Rutendo Hama is a young, passionate and hardworking student at Harare Institute of Technology in Zimbabwe. She is a Zimbabwe citizen and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Pharmacy Honours Degree. Growing up, Rutendo has always been passionate about helping others hence she always wanted to pursue a degree in healthcare. Rutendo is always striving for a better future and is looking to impact the world in a positive way.
