Yet I believe I can a complete the goal or work on it due to the vision I hold appoint myself. Together with all the Millennium Fellows working on our aspirations, I feel the strength in contributing my part to the world. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Mental Connect
Mental Connect is an initiative working on SDG goal 3, in particular to alleviate social stigma towards people with mental health issue. In Hong Kong, the healthcare system is adopting the recovery model, integrating people with mental health illness to the community. Yet, public education on mental illness is inadequate, resulting in labelling of people in recovery (PIR). For instance, public may consider PIR as “crazy” , “losing their mind” or “unable to communicate with”. In light of the social stigma, Mental With You targets on addressing the bias of youth towards PIR with positive experience learning. Youth can in turn be the drive in educating the public with correct perception towards mental illness.
