" "No one is too small to make a difference." As a Millennium Fellow, each of us is empowered to work on our own projects and contribute to the betterment of the world. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Beyond Borders - Unveiling Unheard Realities

Beyond Borders - Unveiling Unheard Realities is an original project aiming at creating a bridge between higher education students and the local community issues around them. As the competitive academic environment too often offers limited space and time for open, free, and constructive discussion. This initiative goes beyond the overly formal academic format and approaches social challenges by returning to the original means of politics: dialogue. By focusing on the UN goals, this initiative connects students from different backgrounds to create confidence and hope for better cooperation among the decision-makers of the future. Indeed, the core of the project consists of the valorization of intercultural dialogue to approach different current events and reflect together on civic action.

About the Millennium Fellow

Wong Cheuk Fung, Rayden, is a third-year student from the University of Hong Kong. Since high school, Rayden has been frustrated with merely reading about global issues without taking action. During his first year in university, his passion to contribute reached its fever pitch. He began his journey by volunteering in Rwanda, where he witnessed the devastating consequences of misunderstanding. Later, he was also involved in several impact projects across diverse locations, including Nigeria, Malaysia, Azerbaijan, and the UK. Upon graduation, Rayden plans to pursue a career in human security, aiming to construct a safer and more just world.
