University of Ibadan | Ibadan, Nigeria | Advancing SDG 3 & UNAI 9

" I am particularly grateful and excited to be a Millennium Fellow, joining a community of change makers dedicated to creating a better world. As a Millennium Fellow, I will be part of a global community of young leaders working towards achieving the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). I'm passionate about fighting antimicrobial resistance through education and awareness, empowering individuals to use antimicrobials responsibly and understand the urgent threat of resistance. By educating the public on the safe and effective use of antimicrobials, I believe I will be able to inspire behavioral change, slow the spread of resistance, and protect the power of these antibiotics for future generations. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Fighting Antimicrobial Resistance
Fighting Antimicrobial Resistance focuses on combating antimicrobial resistance (AMR) through community education, advocacy, and strategic interventions. It aims to raise awareness about the dangers of AMR, promote the responsible use of antibiotics, and encourage better infection prevention practices. This includes organizing workshops, health outreach programs, and educational campaigns, especially in underserved communities, to inform people about proper medication use and hygiene practices. Additionally, the project emphasizes collaboration with healthcare professionals and policymakers to drive sustainable solutions and improve public health outcomes in Nigeria.
