" Inspired by my multidisciplinary studies, I am fascinated by a holistic approach to social justice in which I aim to combine a multitude of my personal passions. I am beyond excited to be meeting peers who think alike through the Millennium Fellowship and cannot wait to learn how I will be able to scale ideas of grass root movements that will impact my direct community. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Greenshift

Veganism and sustainability is only the last of many social impact projects we have learned to deeply care about as it unites many of our other interests such as feminism, equality and healthy living. Being part of a generation that is slowly seeing our world fall apart; being active and creating meaningful impact within our community is the way to keep hope up.
Environmentalism often seems to be something that we can put off for just a little longer, but to us it is the most important conversation to have in this century.
We explore why and how meat is culturally and personally important to us and what we can change in order to live more sustainably.
We are working on offering on-campus courses and organizing a research project through online courses and social media campaigns and student ambassadors.
We wish to create a more appealing approach to shifting towards a plant based diet while proving its viability.
We aim to track the reach of our social media campaigns, including metrics such as impressions and reach, follower growth, interested persons from outside the direct community of IE University and click- through as well as conversion rate with our posts.
In coordination with cafeterias and the sustainability town hall we will be able to survey behavioral changes in food consumption during the project and thus directly evaluate a (changing) attitude towards plant based diets among students.
connect with similar and corresponding projects all over Spain with the goal of uniting the promotion of sustainable diets,
provide nudges for visitors to adapt their diet preferences by showing them quantitative and personalized data such as carbon footprint or water use saved by their personal adjustments.
Knowing that our university is one of the first “carbon neutral” universities in Europe and ranked #1 in the world for ESG and NET ZERO training by the Financial Times, we consciously chose it to develop further sustainability projects. Under the Head of Sustainability and member of the university’s founding family, Isabella de Alcazar, IE provides sustainability ventures with institutional expertise and an extensive network of partners and mentors, which we weighed heavily in our decision
