" Becoming a Millennium Fellow will be a positive thing in a wide variety of ways. It will allow me to develop hard and soft skills that will be crucial for my professional career, as well as meeting interesting and inspiring people. Furthermore, and from a more general perspective, I know that it will allow me to help a big community of people, whose lives can be changed. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: A Friendly Hand
A Friendly Hand is an intuitive app designed to give seniors the ability to request on-demand help for a number of different daily activities. Seniors would pay a small subscription fee in exchange for the services that volunteers may offer. Individuals would volunteer because they would receive certification and work experience as well as the fact that it would not be too much of an inconvenience since all they would do is when for example they're going to go shopping, they might take the chance to help an elder on the way.
