" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it provides an opportunity to push further my commitment to education as well as social impact. I believe that through the collaboration and the shared learning, I can contribute meaningfully to empowering others and creating sustainable change. The Fellowship will help me refine my skills and amplify the positive impact I strive to make. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: BrightQuest : Driving Innovation in Girls’ Education

BrightQuest is a passion project meant to inspire girls living in underserved communities to gain access to education. It was born from my interaction with a 14-year-old girl in India named Priya, who dreams of becoming a teacher one day, despite facing great socio-economic hurdles.
Priya is just one of millions of girls for whom BrightQuest aims to break down barriers imposed by cultural restrictions, unavailability of resources, and systemic inequalities. It is thus a project that is going to run as an internet-based academic and vocational supplement at the core of the program.
Personalized Learning: The platform adapts to the learning pace and style of every girl with the help of AI so that education feels entirely personal.
Offline Accessibility: The platform contains pre-downloaded lessons so that education will not be interrupted while the internet is less accessible in many parts.
Community Support: Mentorship connects young girls to role models worth emulating while materials for parents assert how education changes lives. So far, I have been able to partner with NGOs, schools, and families in rural India to pilot the site and so far, the result has been overwhelmingly encouraging. Parents appreciate the offline aspect, while individualized learning has dramatically changed how the girls relate toward their education. These are early days but still such a huge pleasure to have witnessed already a difference in the lives of young girls.

About the Millennium Fellow

Lou is a PPLE student in IE university, originally from Paris, she lived in NY for 3 years and now lives in Madrid, she has a strong interest in girls' education and the potential of technology to create positive change. While working at NeuralVillage Healthcare and Technology, she gained experience in projects focused on improving the quality of life for people with neurological disorders. This experience, combined with involvement in some educational campaigns and the mentoring of a young girl in Cambodia, has increased Lou’s belief in the value of education. What began as a high school essay has grown into a meaningful commitment to supporting others through learning and empowerment.
