Millennium Fellowship Project: Swayam Shakti
Swayam Shakti is an initiative aimed at empowering acid attack survivors by making them financially and educationally independent. The project focuses on helping survivors overcome psychological trauma, rebuild their confidence, and pursue the life they have always dreamed of. The core activities include: 1. Collaborating with NGOs that share a similar mission. 2. Organizing workshops and psychological therapy sessions with trained professionals. 3. Conducting career counseling to help survivors choose their preferred path. 4. Providing financial support for educational pursuits. 5. Assisting with medical treatments. 6. Helping survivors seek justice by connecting them with legal professionals. The initiative aspires to create a safe and empowering environment where survivors can heal, acquire skills, and regain their identities as strong and self-reliant individuals.
About the Millennium Fellow
Jhanvi Madan is a BTech student specializing in ECE-AI at Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW) with a deep commitment to social impact. She is an accomplished student leader, holding various positions across multiple societies and clubs in her college. Jhanvi is also a dedicated social impact advocate, having been selected as a Millennium Fellowship Class of 2024. She is actively involved with the Centre for Sustainable Development (CSD), where she champions initiatives aligned with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals(SDG Goals). Passionate about technology, Jhanvi has significant experience in domains like Web3, blockchain, and AI/ML. Through her leadership roles and ongoing projects, she is committed to contributing to a more just and compassionate world.
