" "Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah, Sarve Santu Nirāmayāḥ" Meaning: May all beings be happy, may all beings be healthy.
I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it allows me to channel my passion for tackling contemporary global issues into meaningful action. By connecting with a global network of change-makers, I am keen to explore ways to ensure quality education for all, in line with the fourth UN Sustainable Development Goal. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: EmpowerEd: Nurturing Rural Talents Through Programming

Project EmpowerEd is an initiative led by a team of 9 students from IIT Madras under the Millennium Fellowship, in collaboration with the Guruji Education Foundation (GEF). Our goal is to expand the SCRATCH coding program across at least 20 schools in Tamilnadu. In today's fast-evolving world, coding is a fundamental skill. SCRATCH, a beginner-friendly programming language, helps students not only learn to code but also fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. By implementing SCRATCH in Tamil Nadu schools, we aim to empower students, particularly economically weaker students, with these vital skills, enhancing their ability to think logically and approach challenges innovatively. We thus aim to close the digital literacy gap, and provide students with future-ready skills.
