" Apart from being able to work by myself, I really am looking forward to work with other
like minded people from all around the world. And I believe that the creative ideas that
I might get in the course of this fellowship along with the experience and connections
would be a great boon to me. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Ignited Minds Conference

Ignited Minds Conference is an initiative started by IViL - IIT for Villages, in the year 2012 to sensitise the students of urban schools about rural India, about the side of India they do not see. An urban student may not connect with the various plights and the state of rural India directly into his/her life. In today's fast-paced world, urban centres often encapsulate modernity, technological advancements, and an array of opportunities. However, amid the bustling city life, it's easy to lose sight of rural India's equally significant and intricate fabric, which embodies a profound heritage, wisdom, and rich cultural roots.
“The soul of India lies in the villages,” and sensitising the urban with this is something that we aim to achieve through the conference.

About the Millennium Fellow

Daniel Calwin Rijhu is one among the brightest minds of the country from Indian Institute of technology, Madras; deemed to be the best institute in the nation. He is a passionate engineering undergrad who aims to understand and deal with the problems that affect the society first hand rather than waiting for someone to take it up. Having grown up in the vicinity of the collector's office with his grandparents, he has witnessed the struggles that the uneducated and misfortunate people suffer due to their unawareness towards the opportunities and knowledge. Having that in mind he has always been an UPSC enthusiast which is the government post of Union Public Service Commission, but instead of waiting till he graduates to take up the government post's qualification exams, he indulged in starting the change even now during his college years through projects like IVil (IIT for villages, aimed at rural development) and project climate (aimed at spreading awareness regarding the global climate crisis).
