Millennium Fellowship Project: Forget Me Not
The Forget Me Not project addresses the stigma surrounding dementia, focusing on the unique challenges faced by patients and caregivers. Dementia often isolates patients and burdens families, while misconceptions fuel judgment and hinder understanding. Our initiative aims to break these barriers by creating supportive structures for patients and raising awareness among youth.
Through partnerships with organizations like the Dignity Foundation, we host patient-focused activities such as laughter yoga, art sessions, and excursions to enhance their quality of life and demonstrate engagement methods to similar organizations. For awareness, we target students with interactive events, including a city-wide marathon, quizzes, and case competitions that foster understanding and encourage innovative solutions.
With over 1200 people reached via awareness sessions and 100+ patients engaged, we build compassionate communities. By combining grassroots engagement and student-driven initiatives, we create long-term social impact by transforming perspectives and setting a precedent for inclusive dementia care.
