Millennium Fellowship Project: RIJA: Understanding, Supporting and Empowering
Rija is our social impact project aimed at providing pro bono legal representation to underrepresented and marginalized individuals who lack access to proper legal counsel. Through this initiative, we seek to promote justice and equality by ensuring that all individuals, regardless of their financial means, can have their voices heard and their rights protected.
About the Millennium Fellow
Originating from Narowal, Arooj Shahbaz is a passionate advocate for law and gender empowerment. Witnessing gender disparities in her community inspired her to pursue a career in law. She is currently pursuing her LLB at IIU, Islamabad. Arooj has a solid foundation in corporate and taxation matters, complemented by skills in drafting, oral advocacy, trial, and strategy making. Her experience includes internships at Legal Arch, Aain Wa Qanoon, and Brand Experts Pvt. Ltd. Where she gained practical insights into corporate law. She values holistic development, balancing academic studies with extracurricular activities. Hdedication to creating positive change extends beyond her professional life, as she enjoys gardening, traveling, and reading.
