" Passion, compassion and kindness are the bases of what my process has been inside of MCN. These principles guide my work and actions to keep building a better world. I believe in the power of dialogue and education to transform realities, and that's exactly what I expect to do while I'm part of this exciting process. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Campus In Peace
This project aims to cultivate a generation of young leaders and peacemakers in Latin America, focusing on the transformative power of dialogue and specialized training. Participants will gain expertise in three critical areas—Climate Change Advocacy, Peacemaking Initiatives, and Gender Equality Awareness—equipping them to address pressing social issues and drive positive change in their communities.
About the Millennium Fellow
I was born in the municipality of Puerto Rico, Meta in the southeast of Colombia; a municipality affected by different violent encounters within the framework of the Colombian internal conflict. As a result of this, I lost part of my family, I was displaced, and found in forgiveness and peacebuilding the principles that guide my life project. The desire to prevent history from repeating itself has become a decision of constant growth and a commitment to building peace with Colombia and the world.
For the past 5 years, I have been interested in the development of peace in my country. I have actively worked using arts and dialogue as tools to promote social cohesion, peacebuilding, and conflict prevention and resolution. Guided by my commitment to this field, I have participated by providing support in relevant educational conferences, training sessions, and workshops with the aim of increasing my skills and applying my knowledge to the post-conflict process in Colombia. Additionally, as a survivor of the conflict, I realized the potential of personal testimonies and the impact of making different decisions to break the cycle of violence. For this reason, I shared my story through a short film that became the first step in a process of personal reconciliation.
