" The Millenuim fellowship will enable me to make my goal of creating a cleaner environment a reality. Through engaging with like minded people, I will find better ways of achieving my goal. Furthermore, it will offer me the chance to collaborate with other change makers, fostering mutual support as we strive to create a more equitable society and a better world overall. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Pick It Clean Kabarak (PICK)

This Project seeks to promote extended producer responsibility within Nakuru County. Due to insufficient bins and less segregated bins within the town and around school, most people end up littering. The project seeks to bridge the work done by recycling companies and the responsibility owed to the community by plastic producers. The main aim of the project is to establish segregated bins outside school.

About the Millennium Fellow

Faith Chepkoech is a law student at Kabarak University. She is passionate about environmental protection. Throughout high school, she took part in initiatives such as the Globe program to learn more about climate change. Having learnt of the harmful effects of incinerating plastics and how it contributes negatively to landfills, she strongly advocates for improved recycling and the involvement of the producers throughout the entire life cycle of plastics. She aspires to ensure that companies, communities, and retailers work together to recycle and re-use plastics.
