Kabarak University | Nakuru, Kenya | Advancing SDG 3 & UNAI 9

" " Other than the obvious fact that I get to learn and interact with a variety of people with different perspectives on the world, I get to be the change I would love to see and make progress even in a single SDG.
I do the work I do because, as Hamilton says, “I am not throwing away my shot.” Embracing every opportunity to make a difference, I ask myself: If not me, then who? Why not Whitney Manywanda? " "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Increasing Awareness On Diabetes And Hypertension
Diabetes and Hypertension are chronic diseases that occur later in life as a result of lifestyle choices that people make along the road. A great number of people have either of the two, and some end up developing both. So, it is better to sensitize people from as early as high school and university so that by the time they are old enough, they have adapted healthy habits. At Health is Wealth Youth Kenya, we take initiative to visit high schools and sensitize them on the same. We talk to them about causes, risk factors, management and prevention of said diseases. We get volunteers from those who understand and have them work with us. Before a campaign, we get professionals to train the volunteers so that we can get as much accuracy as possible
