"
Millennium Fellowship Project: Collective Minds for Mental Wellness
As a group project, we worked together with Midea Minds and IGLOW community to ensure success of school health education on mental health.We conducted online campaigns for championing mental health awareness on our social media platforms Facebook and LinkedIn. The post featured educational content on mental health and mental health disorders. Our LinkedIn had the most engagement. Additionally, we give a talk about drugs and substance abuse and creating awareness about this topic to young students in Kenyatta University primary School. We covered dangers of substance abuse, how to identify warning signs and the initiative for support. The session was very interactive and we had 300 pupils from grades 6,7 and 8 as our audience. They asked insightful questions and showed genuine engagement.
Finally, we held a webinar on Suicide prevention which was facilitated by Mr. Dennis Chagusia a psychosocial officer and humanitarian.The webinar was majorly attended by youths of ages 18-35. Topics covered included the definition of suicide and familiarizing with terms within this topic, Theories of suicide, Myths and misconceptions about suicide, attitudes about suicide and why people commit suicide. Two other practicing psychologist managed to join and listen in and we're willing to offer support with any one struggling with suicidal thoughts.

Susan Wambui Ngige is an exemplary Electrical and Electronics student born and raised in Kenya.At a very early age ,she was able to nurture her interests in matters concerning social ,political and economic growth.She has affiliated herself with issues pertaining women rights quality education and mental health .She is very passionate and has coordinated with like minded individuals to realize effective results .
