Millennium Fellowship Project: Read to Lead
Read to Lead is a project based on providing various sorts of books to underprivileged children in an effort to provide quality education, reduced inequality, and a diverse understanding of different aspects of knowledge. The project focued on gathering book donations from privileged members of the society and donating them to institutions where underprivileged children could utilise those books for a better quality of education.
About the Millennium Fellow
Umme Rooman Amar is an English Literature student at Kinnaird College for Women University, currently in her 7th semester. Born and raised in Lahore, Pakistan, she has developed a deep passion for exploring diverse literary traditions and cultural narratives. Despite opting for subjects in her A-levels that were primarily for engineering majors, she successfully passed the admission test for a bachelor's degree in English Literature at Kinnaird College and secured her admission. Her academic journey is marked by a commitment to understanding the power of language and literature in shaping social perspectives. Umme Rooman Amar aspires to make meaningful contributions to society by uncovering and cultivating her hidden talents and skills.
