United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Mental Health and Anti-Drug Abuse Advocacy Initiative

Mental Health and Anti-Drug Abuse Advocacy Initiative is a deliberate targeting project aimed at advancing the Sustainable Development Goal on Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3) and Capacity Building as one of the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) principles.
Specifically, the program is curated to de-campaign alcohol and drug use among students while creating awareness of substance use disorders (SUDs) and mental ill- health, which has led to the upsurge of suicidal and homicidal cases within the Kisii campus.

About the Millennium Fellow

Willis Khaoya is a student pursuing Bachelor of arts in sociology at Kisii University, Kisii, Kenya. He's passionate about social justice and aims at ensuring justice for all in the society. Willis runs several projects that aims at helping those who are vulnerable in the society, the organization advocates for the needs of different ethnic groups from different regions. He also plans to further his education to the next level. He's also an enthusiastic speaker and abilities to adapt to changes in different working environments.
