" Nelson Mandela, one of Africa's greatest leaders, famously said, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." This quote deeply resonates with me, driving my commitment to ensuring that every African, regardless of their community, has access to quality education. By becoming a Millennium Fellow, I aim to connect with like-minded individuals who share this vision and are dedicated to making it a reality. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: RLESN Academy

An educational academy that provides and promotes STEAM education across Africa through mentorship and provision of learning resources. It aims to empower intelligent but deprived students through scholarships, mentorship programs, and provision of learning resources. These selected students are also provided with tech training in AI, Arduino, coding and programming, hackaton, and cybersecurity. RLESN Academy monitors these students to ensure they embrace technology as technology is the driving force behind the development of the advanced countries. The students are trained on the need to give back to their community, hence RLESN Academy provides a holistic training for the selected students.

About the Millennium Fellow

Samuel Akoto's life, from an underprivileged community in Western Ghana, through his admission as a second-year student in Electrical/Electronic Engineering at The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), is one that can be described as inspiring and also commendable. He has fought against many odds, such as inadequate infrastructural facilities for education, the absence of computer and science labs, and also a general scarcity of learning materials. His experience pushed him further to become a strong advocate for quality education in Africa, particularly in the STEAM field, for underprivileged students. In so many ways, therefore, Samuel's commitment to enhancement in the area of educational opportunity is a commitment to make a difference in the lives of others facing similar barriers.
