Millennium Fellowship Project: The Hydro-Electric Power Plant
The utilization of water flow of the lagoon beside the Lagos State University Epe Campus, to generate electricity through a water wheel is a traditional yet highly effective method. It involves harnessing the kinetic energy of a flowing water to rotate a wheel, which in turn powers an electrical generator through mechanical transmission units.
A water wheel, also known as a hydro power wheel or water turbine, is a device designed to convert the energy of flowing water into mechanical energy. It typically consists of a large wheel with blades attached around it’s circumference. When water flows over or under the wheel, it rotates thereby converting the kinetic energy of the water into rotational energy.
About the Millennium Fellow
Hassan is a student of engineering in the Lagos State University campus. Hassan Akinola is a frontend developer that is actively learning. He was currently involved in HNG, where he aims to sharpen his skills and contribute to innovative projects. With a passion for technology and problem-solving, Hassan is dedicated to creating seamless user experiences through modern web development practices. His technical acumen and commitment to excellence make him a valuable asset in the tech community. He hopes to translate this zeal into action by making an impact as a millennium fellow and implementing what he has gathered in his learning journey through a prestigious platform like Millennium Fellowship.
