United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

Through Project Impactor, I aim to conserve aquatic habitats and tackle the pressing issues of climate change. Our ecosystems are in urgent need of protection, and I believe that by safeguarding aquatic life, we contribute to a healthier planet. Being part of this fellowship strengthens my commitment to meaningful environmental action and empowers me to drive positive impact in my field. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Climate Action Through Education

The project was specifically a webinar series focused on empowering Youth and young people towards climate Action. It was titled Climate Re-engineering through Youth Engagement.
The project has been a Hugh success and therefore we plan on concluding it.

About the Millennium Fellow

Lasisi Abdulrahman Folayemi is a bright, young, and globally-competitive pre-fisheries
student at Lagos State University. Born in Lagos and residing in Epe, Abdulrahman has
always been passionate about partnering people with nature and conservation. He
lives by Aldo Leopold's principles, with his drive translating from moving ideas to
action. During his time in higher education, he organized projects on valuing
ecosystem services, outreach initiatives like “Buffer the Blues,” and planning future
aquatic habitat restoration. Abdulrahman aspires to a professional career in ecological
economics and ecohydrology, contributing to the United Nations' Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs).
