Millennium Fellowship Project: MEDICAWARE
MEDICAWARE is a project that is targeted at addressing the deficit in health awareness, by carrying out advocacy and awareness campaigns to secondary schools, with a target audience of children/students between the ages of 10-17, with the intention of educating them about infectious and noninfectious diseases and health conditions, their modes of prevention and typical signs and symptoms. Hereby enabling them to be better informed and then also to disseminate this information amongst members of their friend groups, their family and community at large.
About the Millennium Fellow
Lawson Olaiya Michael is a fourth year medical student of Lagos State University College of Medicine, Ikeja. He is the 35th National Union of Lagos State Students, Lagos State University (NULASS-LASU) (Ikeja Campus) Vice President.
He is also the pioneer Vice President of the Lagos State University Medical Students Association, Emerging Leaders Club (LASUMSA-ELC) He is the National Programs Coordinator, Nigerian Medical Students' Association Standing Committee on Capacity Building (NiMSA-SCOCB)
He is dedicated to driving positive change within and beyond his academic environment. He is an advocate of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 3 and 4
He is known for his innovative approach and unwavering commitment to social progress, and has consistently sought opportunities to lead initiatives that address pressing challenges faced by his peers and community.
Lawson Olaiya Michael is not only driven by the desire to make a difference but also striving to be equipped with the skills and knowledge to turn that desire into reality.
