Millennium Fellowship Project: Be BP Smart
BE BP SMART is a public health initiative that advances SDG 3. It is focused on combating hypertension, a silent killer affecting millions globally. The project aims to raise awareness about hypertension, promote lifestyle modifications, and facilitate early detection through free blood pressure screenings. By combining education with action, BE BP SMART empowers individuals to take control of their health and reduces the risk of complications associated with high blood pressure.
About the Millennium Fellow
Mautonthen Hunwi is an aspiring neurophysiologist with a heart for the planet. She is currently attending Lagos State University where she is pursuing her degree in Neurophysiology. She was born in a marginalized coastal community in Lagos, Nigeria.
She has an unwavering desire for self-development and a heart set on making positive impact on the environment.
Her love for the planet moved her to be an advocate for SDG 13, Climate action.She is currently participating in the COP 28 Youth Ambassador skills program where she's dedicating her time to learn more about the planet. She's putting her knowledge into action by volunteering in different capacities addressing climate change.
When Mautonthen is not studying neurophysiology and advocating for climate change,she is managing projects, designing graphics and writing.
