United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Be BP Smart

BE BP SMART is a public health initiative that advances SDG 3. It is focused on combating hypertension, a silent killer affecting millions globally. The project aims to raise awareness about hypertension, promote lifestyle modifications, and facilitate early detection through free blood pressure screenings. By combining education with action, BE BP SMART empowers individuals to take control of their health and reduces the risk of complications associated with high blood pressure.

About the Millennium Fellow

Semilore is a driven and accomplished individual pursuing a medical degree as a 3rd-year student at Lagos State University College of Medicine. In addition to his academic pursuits, he is deeply passionate about using technology and design to address real-world challenges. As a web developer and graphic designer, he has built an impressive portfolio, leading design initiatives for the Nigerian Medical Students' Association (NiMSA) and other organizations. His creative talents have earned him several awards and recognition in various competitions.
Beyond his academic and professional achievements, Semilore is actively involved in public health initiatives. He is the lead designer and a research intern for the Immunitrix community, an initiative focused on promoting HPV vaccination and cervical cancer prevention in Nigeria. His role involves not only design but also strategy and outreach, reflecting his commitment to making a positive impact on society.
Semilore's interests extend to capacity building, helping others reach their potential, and exploring innovative solutions for challenges in healthcare, education, and finance in Nigeria. He has a strong interest in Sustainable Development Goal 9 (SDG 9) and seeks to contribute to its realization through his various endeavors.
A visionary at heart, Semilore balances his focused, driven nature with a love for music and sports. He enjoys playing the drums and bass guitar, as well as engaging in football. Semilore remains determined to excel in his studies and professional pursuits.
