Millennium Fellowship Project: Afya Campus- Sexual Health AI Chatbot & Campaign
Many Makerere University students in Uganda face sexual health challenges, including sexually transmitted diseases, sexual harassment, unwanted pregnancies, unsafe abortions, and incorrect contraception use. Many lack information about symptoms, prevention, when and where to seek care, and long-term complications.
To address this, the project introduces Afya Campus, an AI chatbot providing fast, reliable sexual and reproductive health information. It offers guidance on screening, testing, legal aid, counseling, and specific topics like HIV, HPV vaccination, cervical cancer screening, safe male circumcision, contraception, PEP after rape, ARV treatment, PrEP, menstrual health, and family planning. The goal is to bridge critical information gaps for Makerere University students
