United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: MpaMpe

MpaMpe is an indigenous Ugandan word meaning, give me I give out. Created to solve the challenge of reduced access to quality education due to financial constraints and health affecting challenges among university students.

About the Millennium Fellow

Daisy Rukundo is a young, social and motivated Economics student at Makerere University, Kampala Uganda.
She was born I Kampala, the capital of Uganda though originates from Kisoro, a cold hilly District. She resides in Kampala and is currently studying at the School of Economics, at Makerere University. Daisy has always been passionate about advocacy, leadership and mentorship. Through engaging different stakeholders, getting everyone involved at the grassroots level and inspiring young fellows, she believed her journey is an impactful one. She derives her passion from her experiences growing up in a city, that welcomes and harbours anything without weighing its impact on the citizens. Her dedication to seeing impact can be traced through her leadership in the community and school. How she has embraced different opportunities and manoeuvred through the challenges to keep pushing.
She has motivated many young fellows through her social life, engagements in leadership, mentoring young people and organising young people in movements to help them realise their potential.
Through the knowledge she has gained over the years, she intends to pass it on widely to see a greater change in society.
Daisy aspires to use her profession to cultivate her passions and contribute to the world's development and achievement of sustainable goals.
