Millennium Fellowship Project: MpaMpe
MpaMpe is an indigenous Ugandan word meaning, give me I give out. Created to solve the challenge of reduced access to quality education due to financial constraints and health affecting challenges among university students.
About the Millennium Fellow
Nakazigo Olivia is a young and humble graduand of computer studies from Makerere University, Uganda. Born and raised in Uganda, she has always had a deep passion for IT and continuously seeks to expand her knowledge of the evolving technology landscape. While awaiting her graduation, Olivia is currently employed as a graphic designer at Astra Colours Company. This role has allowed her to apply and refine the skills she acquired during her time at university. In addition to her technical expertise, Olivia is known for her dedication, creativity, and eagerness to contribute to impactful projects.
She has worked on a number of projects both during and after her time at university. Notably, Olivia contributed to the development of a machine learning tool designed to diagnose lower respiratory tract infections, and she also created a simulation of a moving robot, among other innovative projects. These experiences have not only honed her technical skills but also deepened her understanding of practical applications in the IT field, reinforcing her passion for technology and problem-solving.
