Millennium Fellowship Project: MpaMpe

MpaMpe is an indigenous Ugandan word meaning, give me I give out. Created to solve the challenge of reduced access to quality education due to financial constraints and health affecting challenges among university students.

About the Millennium Fellow

Ronnie is a dynamic and multifaceted tech enthusiast and social entrepreneur hailing from Uganda. Currently, in his third year at Makerere University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Ronnie is deeply entrenched in various tech-related endeavors, showcasing his relentless drive for innovation and social impact.
As the co-founder of MpaMpe, a pioneering crowdfunding startup dedicated to tackling financial barriers in education, Ronnie has spearheaded initiatives that bridge the gap between technology and societal challenges. Under his leadership, MpaMpe has garnered recognition, including being among the top 50 finalists in the prestigious Google Students Solution Challenge in 2022.
Moreover, Ronnie plays a pivotal role as the lead researcher at Farm Zenith, an initiative aimed at revolutionizing agricultural practices in Uganda. His research efforts focus on leveraging technology to address climate unpredictability, land scarcity, and poverty within farming communities.
Beyond his entrepreneurial pursuits, He has made significant contributions to the tech landscape as a Microsoft and Wolfram Ambassador, Twilio Champion, Notion Campus Lead, and GDSC Lead facilitating collaboration and knowledge sharing within global tech communities. Additionally, his tenure as a technical writer at Dignited underscores his ability to distill complex tech concepts into digestible content for wider audiences.
His commitment to empowering communities and leveraging technology for positive change is evident in his active participation in events such as PyCon and blockchain gatherings, where he shares insights and experiences with fellow enthusiasts.
