" As a Millennium Fellow, I aim to take my desire to create change one step further. This program will guide me toward developing concrete solutions for social problems and contributing to sustainable development goals. In addition, my passion for human rights, sustainable development, and social equality will reach a wider impact area with this program. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Wastes and Ecosystem in Manisa

The main purpose of our project is to transform Manisa, which is called the "agricultural city"; Responsible production-consumption activities that human beings have created on the ecological balance in water and on land with industrial wastes, unconscious fertilization should be examined.
In this context, we plan to raise awareness through waste literacy on the evaluation of waste in agricultural areas.

About the Millennium Fellow

Hello, I am Rahime Köklü. I am a 4th year student at Manisa Celal Bayar University, Department of Political Science and International Relations. I am receiving my education in 100% English. I live in Turkey. Normally, I live with my family in Istanbul, but I continue to live in Manisa for my university. I am currently working as an intern at TurkishWin, an American-based organization that carries women's solidarity and gender inequality to a global network. I have been involved in sports for as long as I can remember and I regularly do my swimming and fitness training. I am learning French and German in order to have a say in the international arena. I want to use my skills in the future to take an active role in the development and implementation of the United Nations sustainable goals and to be a useful citizen for the world.
