Millennium Fellowship Project: Waste Management And Environmental Control
Our project is titled waste management and environmental control. We live in a community where waste is a problem and also our community is slowly growing into semi arid with almost two years for the community to receive rains.
So we as mcn fellows do take part in educating people on importance of keeping our environment clean and we also initiate and participate in cleaning our community periodically.
Also we plant tree after sometime given that here conditions are very adverse. Trees to survive is not that easy since water is also a problem.
Finally we are working on biogas production to help community as a source of energy though its yet to commence fully since we have less funds to purchase some key equipments.
About the Millennium Fellow
Wabwire Laban Ekesa is senior Electrical and electronics engineering student at Machakos university University, Kenya.Laban is passionate about how the individuals can have an impact on the world around them through affordable energy and management of waste materials. Most of his education focused on the life on the earth. Through his project, he hopes to help the region become a better place and inhabitable. He also desires do a masters degree in his areas of specialisation .
