Millennium Fellowship Project: Empowered To Inspire Change
My project EMPOWERED TO INSPIRE CHANGE is aimed at creating safe spaces for young women to thrive through mentorship, counselling and storytelling.Many young women out there find it challenging to navigate through life as most of the them don't have people whom they can depend on for guidance in this very vital stage of their lives where every decision they make may end up determining how the rest of their lives is going to be. They need someone to empower them through support and equipping them with knowledge to get the confidence and freedom to make better choices concerning their lives . With this empowerment, they will be inspired and motivated to take action towards bettering their future.
About the Millennium Fellow
Benadette Omailo is a young woman from Kenya. She is pursuing a bachelor's in Education at Mount Kenya University. She is passionate about making a difference in the education and SRHR of girls and young women. Growing up she witnessed a lot of injustice against women in her community because of the set n existing in her community. Inspired by their helplessness, she vowed to always be the voice of women and youths by empowering them and advocating for their rights. She has taken several steps to ensure her dream of a safe environment where women and youths thrive actualizes.
