" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it allows me to combine my passion for mental health and reproductive care, creating a holistic approach to well-being. Together with fellow changemakers, we can break stigmas, empower individuals, and cultivate a society where everyone has the support they need to thrive. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Mental Health and Reproductive Care
It worked to sensitize the youth on the best practices for sexual health and also reproductive care. We also sensitized them on the importance of mental health and also organized counselling for those struggling with Mental Health care.
About the Millennium Fellow
I'm Eric Kiplagat a student at Mount Kenya university proudly born and raised in Kenya.I'm a of champion mental health and reproductive care initiatives. I am committed to creating a positive impact in my community, as I believe that mental wellness and reproductive health are fundamental rights that deserve attention and advocacy.
Throughout my academic journey, I have actively engaged in various activities that focus on mental health awareness. I volunteered with local organizations to facilitate workshops that reduce stigma around mental illness and promote available resources. This experience has not only deepened my understanding of mental health challenges but also ignited a passion for advocating change.
Reproductive health is another area close to my heart. Having witnessed the adverse effects of inadequate reproductive education among my peers, I initiated a project that provided information about safe practices, family planning, and access to healthcare services. My goal is to empower individuals through knowledge, ensuring they can make informed decisions about their bodies and well-being.
At Mount Kenya University, I hope to enhance my skills and collaborate with fellow students who share my commitment to these vital issues. The Millennium Fellowship provides a unique platform to develop sustainable solutions and influence policies that address the growing needs in our society. I am eager to contribute my insights, learn from others, and expand my impact within the community.
