About the Millennium Fellow

Ominde Victor Fredrick, born on May 28, 2004, in Kisumu County, Muhoroni Constituency, Kenya, is a dedicated environmentalist, youth advocate, political leader, and actuary. Currently, he is in his fourth year of pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science at Mount Kenya University.
In addition to his environmental efforts, Victor is a certified mental health advocate through the World Health Organization. His dedication to mental well-being complements his environmental advocacy, reflecting his holistic approach to societal issues. He also holds a certificate in medium and small enterprises and business modules from the Technical University of Kenya, further demonstrating his commitment to fostering sustainable economic development.
Victor’s academic journey began at Obola Primary School, where he achieved a notable score of 336/400 in the KCPE examination. He continued his education at Onjiko High School and Magwar Model School, where he earned a B- in his KCSE examinations. His academic excellence paved the way for his current studies at Mount Kenya University, where he actively participates in initiatives promoting environmental awareness and youth engagement.
Victor’s leadership extends beyond his formal roles. He is actively involved in advocating for policy changes and innovative solutions to address environmental issues. His work with Green Gold Youth Caucus has led to numerous successful projects, including community outreach programs and climate action campaigns.
Victor’s dedication to making a difference is matched by his personal and professional achievements. His commitment to improving environmental sustainability, coupled with his focus on mental health and community development, positions him as a leading advocate for positive change in Kenya and beyond.
Through his efforts, Victor continues to inspire and drive meaningful progress towards a more sustainable and equitable future. His work reflects a deep commitment to addressing global challenges and fostering a more inclusive and resilient society.
