United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Digital Literacy Outreach

Our primary goal is to eliminate misinformation and disinformation by training the younger generation who have not had much exposure to the internet and social media on the rightful use of social media and on information literacy. Our audience learned how to spot false information, the basic rules for verifying the validity and viability of and information and what to do when false information is spotted .

"Winner Offor is a distinguished Senior Computer Science student at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture in Umudike, Abia State, Nigeria. With a profound commitment to the transformative power of education, he is ardently focused on advancing digital literacy within secondary and tertiary institutions, ensuring that emerging generations are well-equipped to navigate and innovate in the digital era.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Winner has cultivated considerable expertise as a cybersecurity professional, dedicating himself to safeguarding digital infrastructures and promoting robust cyber resilience. A relentless drive for community engagement complements his technical acumen; as a serial volunteer and community leader, he has consistently demonstrated his capacity to inspire change and foster impactful initiatives.

Through his visionary leadership and multifaceted endeavors, Winner Offor aspires to bridge the digital divide, empower local communities, and contribute to sustainable technological growth both within Nigeria and on a broader global stage.
