Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Hope
Project Hope is a community initiative that seeks to reduce post-harvest losses among local farmers and vendors by teaching them how to increase the shelf life of their products through value addition. The project also provides training to local unemployed youth, equipping them with the skills to make products that consist of banana based which are banana jam and banna chillie sauce, apple based products which are apple sauce, apple syrup and apple cider vinegar, tomatoe based products are tomato puree and tomatoe sauce, pineapple jam, avocado oil and stock feed from overripe fruits and vegetables that can nolonger be consumed. By reducing food waste and teaching skills that lead to sustainable income, Project Hope aims to bring hope and prosperity to the community.
About the Millennium Fellow
Edward Sajeni is a dedicated student at Midlands State University, pursuing a degree in Finance and Banking. As the Marketing and Media Director of Enactus, he has made significant contributions, leveraging his role to drive impactful projects. Edward views every challenge as an opportunity for growth and is passionate about contributing to the United Nations Development Goals. He is also a member of the International Coaching and Mentoring Foundation, further showcasing his commitment to professional development and community impact.
