" We grew up around societies that took the voices and the rights of the youth as a complacent whisper. We looked up to those that came before us and matched and inherited all their impossibles. Told that the youth have nothing to offer, no voice , no ideas when the truth is actually that the youth have a lot to offer, after al it is theitr future that is being fought for. So the youth deserve a seat at the decision making table, they deserve to be heard , to have their groundbreraking ideas adopted and the world could finally see that they are a force to be reckoned with. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Young Political Voices for Change
Young Political Voices for Change seeks to address the issue surrounding youth oarticipation in political matters. Many a times the youith are not given a platofrm to share their ideas and views on how to make change in the communities, their cities, their countries and in the world and this is what YPVC seeks to fight. It is tiume that the world realises the strength that the ideas of the youth holds and how they can imoact the future, their future, how they can also address matters of climate change, hunger and starvation, ending child marriages, ensuring every child is awarded the opportunity to go to school such as the initiatives being run by Vee Kativhu, a young and vibrant youth who is breaking barries and redefinning what it means to be a youth in the 21st century.
So YPVC seeks to redefine politics and what it is all about, to enlighten people that it is not just about casting votes or the long sdpeeches about taxes and everything but that it dives deeper into who we are, what we stand for, what we believe in and the impact that we wish to make and the footprint that we wish to leave on the world.
