Millennium Fellowship Project: Menstrual Care For Young Girls
This project involving giving awareness about menstrual hygiene to primary school girls who have attained menarche and also offer free sanitary pads.
About the Millennium Fellow
Andrew Mwonja hails from Tanzania, currently a medical student at the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS). His passion for healthcare and medicine led him to pursue a career as a clinician.
Based on Leadership and Advocacy, he is an Inborn Leader, demonstrating his ability to inspire and guide others. He have been serving as Research and Policy Officer (HIV/AIDS TWG FAMSA 2023/24), His commitment to public health extends to his role in shaping policies related to HIV/AIDS.
He also used to serve as Chairperson of Campus Residence and Minister of Internal Affairs (2022-23) with actively contributions to the well-being of university community. He used to serve as Projects Coordinator (TAMSA MUHAS 2022-23), his organizational skills shine through in coordinating projects.
He has been serving as Chairperson (College of Medicine 2023-24), as a leader, he usually ensuring its smooth functioning.
Regarding Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in Tanzania, he advocates for SRHR, emphasizing the importance of informed choices.
Also he is a Committed Researcher and his dedication to research drives innovation and progress.
Further more Andrew has improved to working and volunteering at international level as he has been active part of international fellowship of MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP for UNITED NATIONS ACADEMIC IMPACT
