" "We need each component of the ecosystem for the natural mutualistic cycle to repeat continuously". Being under a teacher training course, seeing things happen the right way is my pleasure. I have always yearned to let everyone I interact with aware how the marginalized organisms like birds and others still hold significant values in the community and ecosystem at large for appropriate actions . I believe being part of the Millennium Fellowship class I will acquire more skills and confidence to execute this life activity. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Avian Conservation Campaign Project
Birds are valuable creatures in our societies. But the their population has continued to decline mainly due to human selfish ambitions and actions. The increase in human population, industrialization has negatively impacted the Avian Life. Through human actions life hunting for Bush mean, deforestation, unfriendly/unsustainable agricultural practices habitat destruction and many others have contributed greatly to the decline of avian species in my region. Strong actions therefore need to be taken to address this otherwise the future generations might lack these special creatures. We started a club at Muni University with the mission to promote understanding, appreciation and conservation of avian life. Through the avian conservation campaign project, the club plans to conduct outreaches to the communities near the University and beyond to create awareness about the values of birds in societies and how to sustainably live with these Birds. Through the outreaches to schools right from the primary to tertiary, churches and other community gatherings we believe people will be informed of the values of these birds, be aware of the alternative sources of livelihood and how to sustainably live with these Birds.
