United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Youth Ment Project

Youth Ment is an initiative focused on promoting youth mentorship to inspire students across Malawi to pursue higher education, with particular emphasis on closing gender gaps in education and STEM fields.

About the Millennium Fellow

Tapiwa Chawantha is a bright ,young and globally competitive chemical Engineering student at the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST).She was born in Malawi and raised in Lilongwe and is currently studying in thyolo ,Malawi.For as long as she could remember ,Tapiwa has always had a passion for women empowerment and leadership.This drive and ardour for leadership and women empowerment translated itself from Tapiwa's passion for taking up leadership roles and her dedication for research and participation in various activities.In her college years currently ,she has successfully taken up leadership roles being a president ,secrtary and representative for a couple of communities and has recently started working on her community impact and development project called Tithandizan which will focus on empowring young teen mothers and young males .Tapiwa aspires to be a woman of impact where she can be able to inspire other young people and provide a positive contribution to not only her country in relation to the sustainable development goals but to the world as well.
