United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Youth Ment Project

Youth Ment is an initiative focused on promoting youth mentorship to inspire students across Malawi to pursue higher education, with particular emphasis on closing gender gaps in education and STEM fields.

About the Millennium Fellow

Yankho Thawani, a 22-year-old born in Nkhotakota, Malawi, is an aspiring immunologist studying at the Malawi University of Science and Technology. Passionate about SDG 3, Good Health and Well-being, Yankho is dedicated to advancing public health and improving healthcare outcomes in Malawi and beyond. His acceptance into the Millennium Fellowship reflects his commitment to leveraging his knowledge in immunology to address pressing global health challenges.
