United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

" There is a proverb that " two heads are better than one". my excitment builds on this proverb, that i will be able to join and associate with my fellows in attaining my goals from different instuitions with different skills. being part of MCN will enhance my skills and enable me to be social with others as we aim at developing SDGs for both our communities and worldwide at large, i will achieve my best at MCN. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Harnessing Rice Husk-Derived Nanoparticles for Sustainable Biodegradable Plastics

This aims at reducing the plastic pollution and focusing on the plastic reduction. It also focuses on the production of biodegradable plastics that will be produced with the help of nanoparticles from rice husks since there's production of rice in my community.

About the Millennium Fellow

Nasasiira Ainebyoona is aged twenty five years(25) born in Uganda by Nationality. Nasasiira is forth year student studying Petroleum engineering and environmental management at Mbarara University of science and Technology (MUST) Kihumuro. He is passionate about achieving goals in line with suistaining the environment since his programme has the environmental management that gives him an overview about sustianing environment. Nasasiira engeges himself in attending workshops concerning changing environment in a community, he has joined and done projects inluding "sludge management and utilisation" and this aimed to reduce waste and utilising it into something useful to the environmental. He has team work skills and this has helped him to associate with different students at his faculty and other faculties and he serves as the current chairpersorn St. Luke's capel- MUST. he is willing to join and work together with other fellows to attain and develop Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) in his community.
