About the Millennium Fellow
Shehr Bano is a sophomore at Namal University, Mianwali, where she is pursuing her passion for social impact and empowerment. Born in Wah Cantt and currently residing in Taxila Cantt, Bano has always been driven to effect positive change, particularly for women in Pakistan. Her dedication is exemplified by her volunteer work at the World Academy of Development, where she taught English and table tennis to orphaned girls from Gilgit and Balochistan. The academy’s mission to provide education, food, and clothing to these underserved communities deeply resonated with Bano. The resilience and determination of the girls she worked with inspired her profoundly, reinforcing her commitment to using education as a tool for social change. Bano's experiences have shaped her vision of contributing to societal development and advancing women's rights in Pakistan.
