Millennium Fellowship Project: Eco School on Climate Change
This is school for university students of the Republic of Kazakhstan and interested youth. To enable participating students and young people to learn more about climate change, risks and adaptation measures. This school is aimed at supporting proactive youth and students to create social projects. The main task of the online school is to provide information about the problem, show existing opportunities for creating social projects and provide tools for implementing these social projects. Speakers were invited (on a voluntary basis) from the public sector and NGOs who are working on the climate policy agenda of the country and the Central Asian region.
About the Millennium Fellow
Janabayeva Damilya Ruslanovna is a third-year student in the field of environment and sustainable development at the Narxoz university. She was born in Almaty, here she graduated from school and entered the university on a scholarship. Damilya has always been a very active and inquisitive child, so when during her studies at art school she accidentally got to an ecological plein air, after it she became very interested in ecology. During her studies in the eleventh grade, she chose a specialty for a long time and remembered that plein air and decided that going into the field of ecology and sustainable development would be very interesting. She entered the Narxoz University on a scholarship and successfully completed 2 courses, while managing to publish one article and generally learn more about environmental issues and the direction in which she would be interested in working. Now Damilya is aiming for more and wants to contribute to the un sustainable development goals
