" The versatility of the world is a prove that we can learn a lot from simply networking with others. I look forward to drawing from the well of knowledge of others, improving myself and my community and also sharing the little I know. Must be exciting!!! "
Millennium Fellowship Project: My Skills and I
The project will be centered on the need to acquire valuable and highly demanded skills as a means to alleviate poverty. My school is situated in Amassomma, a village in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa state. In my six years in this school, I have seen brilliant teenagers who if allowed to go to school will do so well and become better versions of themselves for the betterment of their family and the world at large. I have also seen teenagers on the other hand who might not be book smart but can do better when allowed to get and use highly demanded skills to sustain themselves engaging in social vices, endangering their lives and the lives of others. I would love to start up a sustainable skill empowerment center in Amasomma where people especially teenagers can acquire skills that they can use to sustain themselves instead of turning to social vices. The skills will cover both professional(such as catering and hospitality, welding, computer and software engineering, etc) and self-employed skills (such as leather works like shoe and bag production, hair styling, paint making, fashion, and design, etc)
