" "Dancers are seldom handed the proper resources to create positive social change. With the Millennium Fellowship, we can use dance to empower students who are our future and destined to create this impact. It feels right to return to the SDGs as a foundation for this change, having begun my work experience at a UN chapter focused on the same development goals." "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Community Volunteer Connect

Our mission is to bridge the gap between local nonprofit organizations in need of volunteers and college students seeking meaningful community engagement. As students transition into new environments, they often face a loss of community, contributing to rising levels of anxiety and depression. We aim to accelerate students' immersion into their local neighborhoods through volunteering, which not only enhances mental well-being but also fulfills service requirements for student organizations. By creating a central hub for grassroots nonprofits to list opportunities, we will foster impactful connections where student contributions can make a tangible difference. Leveraging university partnerships and outreach, we strive to expand this initiative, starting with Northeastern University and eventually serving other institutions, ensuring that students engage deeply with their communities rather than larger, resource-heavy organizations.

About the Millennium Fellow
