" The Millennium Fellowship will give me the drive and the platform to raise awareness about marital rape, a cause I have been passionate about since my teenage years. This opportunity will enable me to amplify my efforts and bring much-needed attention to an issue that has been close to my heart for a long time. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Sweekriti: Consent for All

Survey regarding perceptions around marital rape and interviews with experts revealed that while it is quite important to criminalise marital rape to change the perception that women are property of men, it is important to criminalise it in such a manner that women are not victimised a second time since many wives would not want their husbands, who are often the sole bread-earners in the family to be arrested
