United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Aasha

Project Aasha aims to bridge the educational divide by providing quality education to underprivileged children. The initiative focuses on creating an inclusive learning environment where every child can access resources, mentorship, and personalized guidance to reach their full potential.
Personalized Learning: Customized learning plans for each child based on their unique abilities and educational needs.
Access to Resources: Provision of educational materials such as books, stationery, and digital resources.
Mentorship and Guidance: One-on-one mentorship from experienced volunteers, offering academic support and life skills training.
Skill Development: Incorporation of extracurricular activities and workshops to develop creative, analytical, and social skills.
Sustainable Impact: Collaboration with local communities, NGOs, and educational institutions to ensure the program’s long-term sustainability and impact.

About the Millennium Fellow

Angel Gupta is a second-year undergraduate student at Netaji Subhas University of Technology, Delhi, who believes that "Leadership is not about being in charge. It is about taking care of those in your charge." With a passion for leadership and a strong commitment to community impact, she strives to use her skills to foster positive change.
As the Team Lead for Project Aasha, Angel spearheaded the development and implementation of an educational curriculum for underprivileged children. This role allowed her to refine her project management abilities, coordinate a dedicated team of volunteers, and drive significant improvements in student engagement and learning outcomes. Her organizational expertise was further honed as an Organizing Committee Member for InnoHacks, where she managed logistics, participant coordination, and communication with stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of the hackathon.
Angel also served as Head Girl at The Vivekananda School, where she led various school activities, including assemblies and major events. Her leadership was instrumental in fostering active student participation and organizing successful school functions. She excelled academically and in extracurriculars such as anchoring and debating, showcasing her well-rounded capabilities.
With her demonstrated leadership experience, Angel Gupta is eager to continue making meaningful contributions as part of the Millennium Fellowship, working alongside peers to address societal challenges and drive impactful solutions.
