United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Zim-bho Gateway Gardens

Zim-bho Gateway Gardens is an initiative to fight hunger and the drought induced effects of the recent el nino drought experienced in most parts of Southern Arica . It will be based in Zimbabwe , with the pilot project launched in Bindura . A series of SMART gardens for the community will be launched where we will make use of harvested ground water use solar powered well pumps for sustainability . The produce will be shared amongst vulnerable members of the community and partakers in the project . Excess will sold to monetise so as to cover operational expenses such as repairs and servicing .

About the Millennium Fellow

Stanley Zimbandi is a bright , young and globally competitive engineering student at the national university of science and technology in Zimbabwe .He was born in Chitungwiza and resides in Bindura .He studies in Bulawayo . Stanley has always been proactive and self -motivated and has the ability to adjust to new situations , overcome obstacles , and learn from failures. He shows great willingness to work with others , share ideas , and build in each others’ strengths .He is passionate about addressing national problems and struggles amongst the natives and the world at large and designing and bringing about engineering solutions to the problems and struggles . From his high school days in the school’s science club to his college days volunteering with peers and doing projects with a positive social impact , he has improved in commitment to ethical standards , responsibility, and integrity in all aspects of work , showing professionalism and ethics . Stanley wishes to continue improvement and be in an environment where he can network with other young world leaders to continue the impact with engineering marvels .
