" Positive change is not achieved by individual effort but through the collaborative efforts of diverse and passionate people. The Millennium Fellowship will not only provide a platform where young people across the globe get to share their personal experiences but will also provide the much needed mentorship they need to propel their careers further. I'm excited to be part of a global network of changemakers and I can't wait to learn from those who've walked the same path that I am following right now, a path to a better and brighter future for the people and the planet. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Circular Economic Agriculture

The project seeks to revolutionize the agriculture industry by creating alternative animal feed from 2 sustainable sources, as well as to enable farmers to farm crops in any climate and season. The first source of alternative feed is black soldier fly maggots which consume organic waste from markets and agricultural waste and breed to the larvae stage. We harvest the larvae and sell it as feed, this feed is cheaper and more nutritious than normal feed. The second source of animal feed is spirulina algae which we culture using fish waste, we hatvest the spirulina and convert it to feed and other products. Farmers will be able to grow any crops at any time and place because the third component of our project is an aquaponics system where plants grow in tandem with tilapia fish, coexisting in a symbiotic relationship. All of these components are housed in one greenhouse structure and we are conducting the project with small scale and rural farmers in a profit-sharing scheme.
